About Mental Health Awareness Month

Mental Health Month has been observed during the month of May since 1949 and was started by Mental Health America (MHA), the nation’s leading community-based nonprofit dedicated to addressing the needs of those living with mental illness and to promoting the overall mental health of all. MHA’s work is driven by its commitment to promote mental health as a critical part of overall wellness, including prevention services for all; early identification and intervention for those at risk; and integrated care, services, and support for those who need them with recovery as the goal.

Fitness, Nutrition, and Mindfulness for Mental Health

Wellbeats offers fitness, nutrition, and mindfulness classes geared toward supporting mental health. What you do physically impacts what you do mentally, and what you do mentally impacts what you do physically. Likewise, there is a complex relationship connecting nutrition and mood. And mindfulness can help improve self-awareness and gratitude, establish inner peace and acceptance, reduce stress, and more.

Wellbeats offers many short but effective classes that can improve your mental health, help with anxiety or depression, or even just boost your mood—all within just a few minutes. Try Ladder Up! with Alex M. to boost your heart rate and your mood, or learn how nutrition can support emotional resilience in Boost Your Mood with Chef Marshall. In Essential Yin with Jan J., you’ll be guided through a simple practice to balance and relax your mind.

“You in Mind” Program

Our “You in Mind” program is all about YOU. As you sample classes from our fitness, nutrition, and mindfulness collections and complete mindful minute check-ins, you’ll be encouraged to identify how each class makes you feel to discover what works best for you. Take this opportunity to explore a wide range of health and wellness and learn new ways to personalize your Wellbeats experience beyond the program.
