Wellbeats Announces SOC 2 Certification from AICPA

Wellbeats, a leading provider of on-demand, virtual fitness programming announces today that it has received SOC 2 Type 1 Certification from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

What is SOC 2 Type 1 Certification?

SOC 2 Type 1 certification confirms Wellbeats is compliant with industry best practices for its data privacy and security. This includes non-financial systems and processes that safeguard the security and confidentiality of the Wellbeats fitness platform and all related data.

According to the AICPA, service organizations pursue SOC 2 Type 1 certification as a way to verify that the design and implementation of relevant controls throughout their system architecture meet industry standards. Verification is as assessed by an independent auditor. The Wellbeats’ certification focused on the security and confidentiality of the company’s fitness app and web portal.

Wellbeats CEO on Data Privacy & Security

“Data privacy and security is a big concern for our commercial clients and anyone who uses the Wellbeats app,” said Jason Von Bank, president and CEO of Wellbeats. “We applied for SOC 2 certification to demonstrate to our business partners that we are committed to maintaining tight controls on security, confidentiality practices, and our overall data infrastructure.”
